Elk & Red Stag

The Elk and the Red Stag are coming from herds in western Canada. They are good quality animals that are at least 3 year old or older. The Elk will be 5 x 5 or 5 x 6 and will average around 700 lbs. They will make very nice mounts and the meat is excellent. The Red Stag are usually 6 x 6, 6 x 7, or 7 x 7. In size of body they are close to the size of elk, they will average around 600 lbs. A Red Stag makes an excellent mount and the meat is very good as well.

Deer

hunting guide serviceThe deer are coming from several places in the states. The Fallow Deer is the most popular out of the exotic deer. They will vary in color from black, chocolate brown, menile, and white. The antlers are palmated, such as caribou or moose, but much smaller in size. The average weight will be 150 to 200 lbs. Sika Deer will be brown in color, and body weight is usually 140 to 190 lbs. Sika Deer antlers are shaped like elk antlers, but are much smaller in size. Axis Deer have reddish brown coats with white spots, average weight is 140 to 200 lbs. The antlers have three points on each side ,consisting of a main beam. The average age for all the deer will be 3 and a half year old. Deer this size make excellent mounts and the meat is also very good eating. I think you will be very proud of the animal that you take.

The lodges have kitchenettes in them and there are restaurants 8 miles from camp. The guides will take you hunting, assist any way they can to insure you a successful and enjoyable hunt. After the kill, the guides will transport your kill back to camp. An animal the size of an elk or a stag this can be a big task. They will skin and quarter your animal in the price of the hunt. There is a local butcher who will completely process the animal if you decide to do that. The head will be prepared for transport home or you can have it mounted at our taxidermy shop, (Buck Pierce Taxidermy) located at the camp.
